Western Digital Signs Factory Sale Pact

Western Digital Corp., a maker of computer components, said Friday that it signed an agreement to sell its chip factory in Irvine to Motorola Inc.’s semiconductor products sector for $111 million.

The sale, announced last October, is expected to be completed by Christmas, the companies said. Western Digital plans to use the cash from the deal to retire bank debt.
