Compaq Quitting Printer Business: The Houston-based computer maker said it will discontinue the business in the first half of next year. Compaq Computer Corp.’s Pagemarq product line will still be offered during the period, but development of printers will be stopped. “This decision should not affect current estimates of the company’s performance for the remainder of 1993,” said Daryl White, Compaq’s chief financial officer. Technical assistance, replacement parts and service will still be offered for people who own Pagemarq printers, the company said.
