COUNTERPUNCH LETTERS : Painting L.A. Beautiful
- Share via
Obviously Ray Bradbury has judged that both the UCLA Art Department and Times Staff Writer Shawn Hubler are on that well-known “road to hell paved with good intentions” (“Author Vows to Lead Way to Paint L.A. Beautiful,” Nov. 29).
Good intentions alone do not produce art. Everyone involved, however, was trying to help the less fortunate. If we criticize the quality of even the poorest attempts at assisting the unfortunate, we are volunteering not only to paint over lousy graffiti but also to offer advice on painting.
