Coal Prices Deregulated: China will free coal prices Jan. 1 in a bid to spur competition, the People’s Daily newspaper said. “The move marks an essential step toward gearing major state-owned coal mines with the market and allowing coal prices to fluctuate according to demand,” the official newspaper said.
