‘Mother Doe’ Case

* Thanks to our nation’s founders and the courts, the U.S. Constitution protects us from the sanctimonious and self-righteous interference of people like Susan Carpenter McMillan (Dec. 19, Column Right).

Whether it is a women’s choice to become a mother, or mother’s choice to reject invasive surgery to force delivery, women still do have some physical sovereignty in this country.

McMillan’s column finally shows her true colors as one who so fervently believes in her own concept of “rights” that she would forcibly override the constitutional guarantees for others. Her description of the young mother as acting out of “misguided faith” reminds me of the admonition about “people who live in glass houses.”
