Judge Says Former Penny Stock Dealer Should Pay $8.5 Million: U.S. Magistrate Richard M. Borchers recommended that Meyer Blinder pay the amount in damages to 200 investors who claimed he defrauded them when he presided over Denver-based Blinder, Robinson & Co. The recommendation came in a lawsuit filed against Blinder, who is serving a 46-month prison term for racketeering, conspiracy and securities fraud. The recommendation must be approved by U.S. District Judge Edward Nottingham. Borchers said Blinder has 10 days to file a written objection. The investors say they lost money in two separate investment trusts.
