GTE Gets Reprieve on Cerritos Video Service: GTE Corp. said a federal appeals court has allowed it to continue to offer video programming to its in-franchise customers in Cerritos, pending judicial review. The stay by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit in San Francisco was granted until the court can rule on an earlier GTE appeal challenging the constitutional right of the Federal Communications Commission to prevent GTE from offering video programming. On Nov. 19, GTE filed a petition challenging the FCC’s rescission of the company’s authority to continue operations in Cerritos.
