Ford Workers to Share in Profits: Ford Motor Co. said about 150,000 U.S. employees will receive profit-sharing payments based on the auto maker’s 1993 financial performance. The average amount of the payments will be announced to employees in February, and checks will be distributed in March, the company said. Analysts expect Ford to show a profit of more than $2 billion for 1993, up from a 1992 record loss of $7.4 billion, which included $6.9 billion in accounting charges. This is the eighth year Ford has shared profits with its U.S. employees since the first payout in 1983.
