Wordperfect to Charge Customers for Questions: The software giant, following the lead of Microsoft and other big players, said it will begin charging customers when they call with questions about its products. Beginning Feb. 1, registered users in the United States and Canada will receive 180 days of free support for business applications and 90 days for work-group applications. After that, customers must choose from various payment options, ranging from $2 a minute to $2,500 a year for small and medium-size organizations. Previously, the company instituted a program for larger companies, which must pay $10,000 or $15,000 a year.
