KMPG Peat Marwick Purchases Los Angeles Firm: The company has acquired Smith Banking Consultants under undisclosed terms. Smith Banking, which specializes in regulatory compliance and community bank consulting, will remain under the management of co-founders David L. Smith and Catherine J. Vandenberg, KMPG said.
