Bloom Is Off Revlon-Perfumania Merger: Perfumania Inc. said its three-months-long merger talks with a Revlon Consumer Products Corp. unit have collapsed. Perfumania Chairman Ilia Lekach said the Miami-based company is instead discussing selling its $56-million-a-year retail business with Revlon and two other companies. Lekach said he wants to sell the company’s 148 cosmetics stores, which have been largely unprofitable, and hold on to the more lucrative wholesale business. Miami-based Perfumania’s discussions of a merger with Revlon’s Prestige Fragrance & Cosmetics unit fell through because New York-based Revlon wanted Perfumania’s retail business, not the whole company, Lekach said.
