Harvey Matofsky; Movie and TV Producer, Publicist

Harvey Matofsky, 60, film and television producer and publicist. The Brooklyn-born Matofsky earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism at New York University and began his career as a film critic. He later worked in publicity for United Artists, Charles Schneer’s Production Co. in London and Joseph E. Levine’s Embassy Pictures in Rome, where he promoted the films of Federico Fellini. Among the films Matofsky produced were “Billy” starring Cliff Potts in 1972, “Zandy’s Bride” starring Gene Hackman and Liv Ullmann in 1975, and the television movies “Poker Alice,” starring Elizabeth Taylor and George Hamilton, in 1987 and “Trouble in Paradise,” starring Raquel Welch and Jack Thompson, in 1989. On Jan. 3 in Las Vegas of heart failure.
