Owen McLean; Retired Casting Director for 20th Century Fox

Owen McLean, 81, retired casting director and executive vice president for 20th Century Fox. McLean, who was born in Ogden, Utah, began his Hollywood career in the 1930s as a messenger at Warner Bros. He went to work for 20th Century Fox in 1938, and over the next 35 years cast more than 100 films, including “The Grapes of Wrath,” “Miracle on 34th Street,” “Cleopatra,” “The King and I,” “South Pacific,” “Three Faces of Eve,” “The Diary of Anne Frank” and “The Robe.” In 1986, McLean was honored by the Casting Society of America with its Hoyt Bowers award for outstanding achievements in casting. On Jan. 6 in Newport Beach of Alzheimer’s disease.
