Robert McKay, 68, TWA spokesman for 29 years. A native of Providence, R.I., McKay was educated at Boston University and began his career as a reporter on Providence’s Pawtucket Times newspaper. He signed on with TWA in 1952, as its public relations director for La Guardia Airport in New York. He moved to Los Angeles International Airport with TWA in 1955 and became something of an institution--the airline industry source all news media came to rely on. After his retirement prompted by heart problems, McKay volunteered to handle public relations in Ventura County venues for the 1984 Olympics. On Wednesday in Ventura of a heart attack.
