Lawsuit Settled: Thanh Son Tofu, a food processing company in Westminster, has settled a consumer protection lawsuit brought by the Orange County district attorney. The lawsuit alleged that the company, owned by Xuan Van Dang and Di Ta, had sold tofu and soybean products that were processed in unsanitary conditions.
Without admitting any wrongdoing, the defendants agreed to pay $8,961 in civil penalties and adopt a comprehensive plan to protect public health. That plan includes training for employees who handle foods, improved sanitation practices and a pledge to keep the company’s food-processing area free of rodents.
