James Buckley Named President of Apple USA: Apple Computer Inc. said Buckley’s appointment is effective immediately. Buckley, 43, was most recently vice president and general manager of Apple USA’s Higher Education division. In his new position, he is responsible for all of the division’s sales, marketing, customer service and support activities. He replaces Bob Puette, who left Apple in October. Apple USA accounted for more than 55% of Apple’s sales last year.
