BOYS’ SOCCER ROUNDUP : Unranked La Habra Shuts the Door on No. 9 Sonora
Hugo Estrella and Ignacio Chavez scored first-half goals and La Habra (8-4-3, 2-1-1) went on to beat ninth-ranked Sonora, 2-0, Wednesday at Sonora High.
Goalie Scott Taylor had three saves for the Highlanders, who handed the Raiders their first league loss. Sonora drops to 10-3-2, 3-1.

Fullerton 5, Buena Park 1--Aaron Olea scored two goals and Steve Reiner, Bobby Haab and Antonio Jaramillo each had one to lead Fullerton (5-6-5, 2-1-1). Byron Loyes scored for Buena Park (3-5-1, 0-3-1).
Sunny Hills 5, Troy 1--Sophomore Andy Volpp had two assists for Sunny Hills (10-5-2, 3-1). Robert Connell had 21 saves for Troy (3-8-3, 0-4).

Pacifica 1, Santiago 1--Trevor Stivers scored in the first half Pacifica (4-2-3, 3-1-3). Antonio Diaz scored the tying goal with 1:30 remaining for Santiago (8-3-2, 6-0-1).

Valencia 3, Savanna 0--Dan Lincavage, David Richards and Gilberto Rivera scored for host Valencia (2-10-1, 1-3).
Western 2, Anaheim 0--Eric Cram and Eric Lara scored the goals for visiting Western (8-4-1, 4-0).
In the Pacific Coast League:
Laguna Hills 4, Trabuco Hills 1--Cesar Montes scored the game-winning goal on a free kick with 14 minutes left to lead Laguna Hills (8-7-1, 4-0).
Gerry Beckham gave Trabuco Hills (9-6-1, 3-1) a 1-0 lead before R.B. Edwards tied the score with five minutes left in half. Jamie Miller and Ted Wenzel each added goals in the last 10 minutes to seal the victory.

Corona del Mar 3, Newport Harbor 1--Dustin Lee, Eric Olsen and Jason Boyce each scored to lead visiting Corona del Mar (12-2-3, 5-0-1), the second-ranked team in the county.
