DOWNTOWN : Forum on Crime’s Effect on Business

Crime’s effect on the business community will be discussed at a Wednesday lunchtime forum at the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce office, 404 S. Bixel St.
Scheduled to speak are Deputy Police Chief Mark Kroeker, a specialist in community-based policing; Peter Greenwood, a senior researcher at the RAND Corp. and head of its criminal justice program, and Municipal Court Judge Rudolph A. Diaz.
In addition to a general discussion of forgery, shoplifting and other crimes that affect businesses, the talks will include the perceived and statistical levels of local crime, employee safety and the effect additional police officers could have on business ledgers.
Tickets to the forum are $23.50, including lunch.
