Father Gets 8 Years for Starving Son, 4

FAIRMONT, Minn. —
A man has been sentenced to eight years in prison for locking his 4-year-old son in a darkened bedroom for 16 months and feeding him only scant portions of cereal, bread and water.
Ronald Walls, 27, of Truman, Minn., said he mistreated the boy because he believed that he was conceived when his wife was raped. The child is now in foster care.
