Xircom Reports 11th Quarter of Record Earnings

Xircom Inc., a Calabasas maker of network connections for personal computers, reported record profits of $3.4 million for its fiscal first quarter on a 54% surge in revenue compared with a year earlier.

The profit for the latest quarter ended Dec. 31 was up 92% from $1.8 million a year earlier, and it marked the 11th straight quarter of record earnings, Xircom said. Sales in the latest quarter totaled $26.4 million, up from $17.2 million a year earlier. The company said it continues to see strong demand for its products.
