Woodland Hills Fan Maker Will Report $300,000 Loss

Beverly Hills Fan Co., a Woodland Hills maker of ceiling fans and lighting fixtures, said it expects to report a loss of about $300,000 for its fiscal year that ended Oct. 31.

The company said the loss was due to unexpected chargebacks against accounts receivable. It decided to make the chargebacks, company President Shelley Greenberg said, because many receivables were 90 days past due and some appeared to be uncollectable.

Beverly Hills Fan added that its financial reporting was delayed because of the earthquake, but that it sustained only moderate damage. It expects to resume full operations this week.
