EXECUTIVE TRAVEL

* Name: Lucia De Garcia

* Position: President

* Company: Elan International, Newport Beach

As president of a business development firm, I have traveled extensively in Mexico.

One of my favorite hotels is the Stouffers Presidente. It is also the favorite of the Mexican elite--a place to be seen. Close by is the president’s house, and within walking distance is the fashionable Polanco area (the “Rodeo Drive” of Mexico City) and museums.

Entertaining is an intrinsic part of doing business in Latin America, but it can be very expensive in Mexico. I suggest you stay on the Executive floor of the Presidente, where you find excellent service to entertain business associates, such as breakfast, afternoon tea and evening cocktails. You accomplish much more by having people meet with you in the hotel, and you don’t have to fight traffic. This hotel also has a business center, which offers meeting rooms, several telephone booths, computers and fax machines. Business can be conducted in a timely manner, and you will be returning quickly to the United States, sooner than you expected--or wanted.
