Exports from China

Share

* Last year China illegally exported more than $2 billion worth of textile products to the United States, mostly by mislabeling goods or “transshipping” them through other countries to hide their Chinese origin. On Jan. 18, under U.S. threat to slash China’s textile quotas by 25% to 35%, China succumbed to U.S. pressure and signed an agreement to allow U.S. inspectors into textile plants to investigate mislabeling and other export violations.

The communist government, under the helmsmanship of the octogenarian Deng Xiaoping, has no scruples about hoodwinking and cheating on anything and/or anybody. The cheating of the United States on textile mislabeling is only a tip of the iceberg; they have been cheating on hundreds of other things that were not caught.

This incident of cheating by the Chinese communists taught us two things: One is that China led by the communists can never be trusted; second, they recognize and can be dealt with only by strength. A policy of appeasement would only make them bolder and wilder.
