Comarco Inc.: The maker of communications products for the public and private sectors said Thursday that it was awarded a one-month contract extension, valued at $1 million, with the Navy’s China Lake facility.

Providing communications services at China Lake Station, known as the Naval Air Warfare Center, is one of two contracts that Yorba Linda-based Comarco holds with the Navy.

The other Comarco contract is with the Navy’s Point Mugu station, near Oxnard in Ventura County. China Lake is in the Mojave Desert.

The Navy is renegotiating with Comarco to consolidate the two contracts for China Lake and Point Mugu. It has indicated that it would continue to extend its China Lake contract, initially scheduled to lapse at the end of January, until the consolidation is completed, the company said.

Comarco stock closed Thursday at $5 a share on the Nasdaq market, unchanged from Wednesday.
