WILSHIRE AREA : Police Commander to be Honored
Cmdr. Julius I. Davis, the former commanding officer at the Police Department’s Wilshire Division who was recently promoted to commander of the Internal Affairs Group, will be honored by the community at a Feb. 18 dinner.
The Wilshire Area Community Coalition will honor Davis for his more than 25 years of service, including more than three years at the helm of the Wilshire Division, said coalition president Marie Gaines.
“We want to recognize him for his personal dedication and service to our community,” Gaines said.
The program will begin at 7 p.m. at the Sheraton Grande Hotel, S. 333 Figueroa St. Businesses, groups and individuals who want to participate are encouraged to make reservations by Saturday.
