Connors’ Hearing Delayed

A pre-trial hearing in the case of former Hart High quarterback Ryan Connors was delayed Monday because his defense plans to introduce evidence that Connors was not legally drunk during a high-speed collision last July, Deputy Dist. Atty. Steve Barron said.

Connors is charged with two felony counts (driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a blood-alcohol level of .08 or above) and one misdemeanor count (reckless driving causing injury) in an accident on San Fernando Road that left another motorist seriously injured.

Connors’ defense attorneys told San Fernando Superior Court Judge Shari Silver they plan to show evidence that Connors’ blood-alcohol content was below the California legal limit of .08 despite two previous readings of .08 or above.

In 1991, Connors set a then-Southern Section record by passing for 4,144 yards in his senior season.
