ANAHEIM : Police Identify Bodies Found in Car Trunk

Police on Thursday were still looking for clues in the shooting deaths of two men whose bodies were found in the trunk of an abandoned Cadillac convertible.

The victims were identified as Francisco Javier Lopez, 31, of Arizona, and Anastacio Parra Sarabia, 30, of Mexico, said Anaheim Police Sgt. Steve Rodig.

“We have four detectives working the case, but we still don’t have any apparent motive for the homicides,” Rodig said. “At this point, we have no leads or suspects.”

Lopez and Sarabia each had several gunshot wounds in the upper torso and head, police said. Their bodies were discovered Wednesday after police were called to investigate the Cadillac, which had been abandoned at a remote rock quarry near Santa Ana Canyon Road and Gypsum Canyon.

The car apparently had been left at the quarry Friday night. It had not been reported stolen.

“It’s a good possibility that the victims were killed at another location from where they were found,” said Rodig, who declined to comment further on any aspects of the investigation.
