COSTA MESA : Reporting Graffiti Can Net $500 Reward

Share

The city is offering a $500 reward for anyone who offers information that leads to the conviction of a graffiti vandal.

Police spokesman George Wilson said the rewards are designed to encourage residents to report vandals and help police catch taggers in the act.

People who provide information may be required to testify in court.

A form to report vandals is available at the Police Department, the city clerk’s office and the community services counter at City Hall. Completed forms must be returned to police.

The city also will reimburse people for the cost of using a cellular phone to report a vandal if the suspected tagger is convicted of a crime.

The City Council will decide whether information provided is directly responsible for a conviction and will make any rewards.
