Earth Technology Buys Summit Environmental: Long Beach-based Earth Technology Corp. and Summit Environmental Group Inc. of Canton, Ohio, will combine their environmental engineering and consulting companies, with Summit becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of Earth. The move increases Earth’s technical staff, geographic reach and client base to 1,400 employees in 29 U.S. offices. The two firms totaled $150 million in revenues in 1993, with Summit specializing in commercial and municipal clients and Earth concentrating on federal government agencies, notably the Defense Department.
