From Times Staff and Wire Reports

Convinced that the missing husband of slain publishing heiress Anne Scripps Douglas is responsible for killing her, the Scripps family increased the reward for information leading to his arrest from $25,000 to $100,000. The body of the 47-year-old heiress to the Scripps-Howard newspaper chain was found in the bedroom of her Bronxville, N.Y., home on New Year’s Day. A car belonging to Douglas’ husband, Scott, 38, was found idling on a Hudson River bridge. But police and her family believe he faked his suicide.
