NATION IN BRIEF : OHIO : Reporter Freed After 22 Days in Jail
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
A newspaper reporter jailed for 22 days in Warren, Ohio, for contempt after refusing to testify before a grand jury was released. It was the longest such sentence for any American journalist in a decade. Lisa Abraham, a reporter for the Tribune Chronicle, was jailed Jan. 19. She had refused to testify before a grand jury investigating the $25,000 office renovation of county Engineer James Fiorenzo. Special prosecutor Jonathan Rosenbaum had wanted Abraham to testify about a June 25, 1993, interview with Fiorenzo.
