Chrysler Workers Get Record Payout: The average profit-sharing payout to 65,000 union employees was $4,300, a record for the Big Three U.S. auto makers. The workers’ windfall was based on Chrysler Corp.’s $2.4 billion in 1993 operating earnings. By contrast, Ford Motor Co. workers will receive profit-sharing checks averaging $1,350.
