VENTURA : City to Consider Rezoning Request
The Ventura City Council today will consider a developer’s request to rezone an area designated for office space to allow residential housing.
The five-acre parcel is on Thille Street between Hill Road and Partridge Avenue on the city’s east end.
Woodland Hills-based Raznick & Sons wants to build a 100-unit apartment project on the vacant site instead of the seven-building office complex it had originally planned.
City staff is recommending against the zone change.
“We’re going to be short of office space in the future,” Community Development Director Everett Millais said, “and we’ve got all the residential housing we can handle.”
