Air France Proposes Reorganization: The airline’s chairman, Christian Blanc, sent a letter to his 40,000 employees proposing a reorganization into a series of smaller companies. Blanc, who became chief executive of Air France in October, proposed cutting layers of management and decentralizing operations to spread responsibility over different geographic zones. The proposal was the latest stage in a dialogue Blanc has tried to set up with the carrier’s 14 unions in a search for consensus on savings.
