RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA : Walk in Support of Abducted Boy
- Share via
Residents of Rancho Santa Margarita have scheduled a flashlight walk for 5 p.m. Sunday to call attention to the abduction of a 4-year-old boy who was taken last weekend from his foster home.
The community-walk sponsors are asking people to gather at the Rancho Santa Margarita Beach Club to demonstrate support for Taj Yaser Jayyusi and his foster mother, Susan White.
Police believe that the child was taken by his biological parents just days before court proceedings were scheduled to enable White, 43, to adopt Taj.
Witnesses in Anaheim, where the couple lived, reported to police Wednesday that they saw the boy and his parents in a yellow 1980 Oldsmobile Delta near Beach Boulevard.
Police had been concerned that Taj’s father, Yaser Majed Jayyusi, a 55-year-old Jordanian, might flee the country with the boy.
