Group Makes Offer for America West: Air Partners, the investor group that brought Continental Airlines Inc. out of bankruptcy court, has made an offer for America West Airlines, a spokesman for the group said. In addition, Continental and the New Mexico-based regional carrier Mesa Airlines are said to be considering joining in the bid. Investors David Bonderman and James Coulter of Fort Worth, Tex., formed Air Partners last year and joined with Air Canada to bail out Continental in return for a majority stake. A spokesman for Air Partners said the offer already has expired, but the investors group said it is still interested. Continental and Mesa would be minority investors in America West.
