Boy’s Stabbing Death Hard to Comprehend

Share

* The story “14-Year-Old Simi Valley Boy Is Stabbed to Death at School” (Feb. 2) really bothers me.

Society has crumbled around us, and stories like this just confirm it. The quote by Mrs. Hubbard, the boy’s mother, brought tears to my eyes, and I never met these people. The unfortunate thing is there is nothing we can say to this woman to bring back her son.

A young boy is stolen from our society by a whacked-out kid who will walk the streets when he’s most likely no older than 25, yet Mrs. Hubbard won’t have the opportunity to see her child grow up at all.

As a 23-year-old who seems to be growing up in a crazy world, one that none of my elders seems to be able to comprehend, I can only say, what the hell is going on? Has everybody just lost their minds? What now? We just put this kid in a youth home to teach him a lesson?

You steal a candy bar, you learn a lesson. To murder somebody, there is no lesson to be learned. Go back out on the streets and don’t kill anyone else, OK?

I think not. God bless you, Mrs. Hubbard and family. I’m praying for you all.
