Stringer Trips at Olympics: CBS Broadcast Group President Howard Stringer fell and broke his leg on the way to see the Nancy Kerrigan/Tonya Harding skate-off in Norway. Stringer, who was treated at a hospital, missed the event that is helping CBS achieve record ratings in the Olympics. Jokes soon began circulating at CBS in New York about which executives from rival TV networks had been seen with a pipe--or driving a getaway car from the scene. Stringer’s accident was said to be one of several incidents of broken bones on the ice at Lillehammer.
