Foster File at Rose Firm Reported Shredded

A courier for the Rose Law Firm in Little Rock, Ark., said in secret testimony that he was told to destroy a box of documents from the files of the late White House lawyer Vincent Foster, the New York Times reported in today’s editions.

Quoting unidentified people familiar with the testimony, the newspaper said the employee told a federal grand jury Feb. 16 that he and a colleague used an office shredding machine in late January to destroy papers from Foster’s file. The request to do so came from a clerk at the firm, the unidentified courier was quoted as saying.

The courier said that he did not know precisely what he had shredded but that the papers were separated by binders marked with the initials “VWF,” the firm’s abbreviation for Foster, the newspaper said.

It said the Rose firm denied in a statement that any of Foster’s papers had been shredded.
