Aldyn McKean, 45, an AIDS spokesman who helped start the advocacy group ACT UP. Once a singer and actor, McKean appeared in the Broadway show “The Robber Bridegroom.” He became a leading spokesman for ACT UP when it was formed in 1987 to campaign for AIDS patients’ civil rights and for more research to halt the epidemic.
