Land Mine Blast Kills 2 Philippine Policemen

MANILA —
Two Philippine police officers were killed and two others were wounded Saturday when a military vehicle they were riding hit land mines planted by communist rebels south of Manila, the state news agency said.
Intelligence reports said the intended target of the mines had been an infantry battalion that was due to stage a theater show in a neighboring town, the agency said.
