Arabs, Israeli Troops Clash
Young Arabs and Israeli troops clashed in Jerusalem on Saturday after a guerrilla hero exhorted Palestinians to take up arms again at a rally marking the Hebron mosque massacre.
There were few casualties. But the incidents underlined how the shock waves from the massacre continue to reverberate around the Holy Land, sharpening old hatreds.
Palestinian leaders said the Palestine Liberation Organization should insist on modifying its self-rule deal with Israel so that some Jewish settlements would be evacuated.
The call came after a week of nonstop violence triggered by the massacre of 48 Muslim worshipers by a Jewish settler in Hebron.
