Spectrum Executive Under Investigation: Peter Caserta, 51, chief executive of embattled Spectrum Information Technologies Inc., is under federal investigation for mail fraud. A federal grand jury in Brooklyn is also investigating Caserta Group, a business founded by Caserta in 1988, according to a criminal subpoena. U.S. postal inspectors are investigating claims made by Caserta Group to prospective clients seeking financing. Caserta’s private organization is in the same Manhasset, N.Y., office building as Spectrum. It charged up to $25,000 to help find financing, according to clients.
