Michael Jordan’s name is everywhere. There are high-top sneakers, T-shirts, posters, basketballs. And now’s there’s even Air Jordan bacteria.

Sound gross? Not at all, Dr. Stanford Shulman tells 3-2-1-Contact magazine. He’s the person who named a new strain of salmonella after the b-ball star. (Salmonella bacteria causes upset stomachs.)

Shulman didn’t mean it as an insult. He says he named the strain he discovered Salmonella mjordan because he’s a big fan of Jordan.

“I have a huge stand-up poster of him in my office,” Shulman said. “Believe me, I meant for this to be a high honor.”
