ANAHEIM : Lottery to Choose Low-Rent Tenants

An apartment complex for low-income senior citizens will hold a lottery Saturday for prospective residents.

The lottery at Villa Anaheim, 280 E. Lincoln Blvd., will determine who will move in to the lowest-rent units.

To be eligible for the 9 a.m. lottery, a one-person household’s annual gross income cannot exceed $5,650 and a two-person household’s gross income cannot be more than $6,356.

The 135-unit, gated community provides seniors with very low income the opportunity to live in affordable one- and two-bedroom apartments.

The development includes a pool, spa, sun deck and a 3,700-square-foot clubhouse with an activity area, bingo and television center, arts and crafts room, kitchen, retreat area and library.

Operated by American Retirement Villas of Costa Mesa, the development was created with the participation of the California Housing Finance Agency, the Century Freeway Housing Program, the city of Anaheim and the Federal Tax Credit Program.
