Bubble gum is going high-tech.

Amurol Products, a unit of Wm. Wrigley Jr. Co., said it will offer bubble gum in the shape of cellular telephones. Other new shapes this year will include gum that hangs around your neck, long tubes filled with tiny gum balls and bungee cord bubble gum.

“I don’t know who’s gone bungee jumping, but the kids are interested in that,” said A.G. Atwater, president of Amurol.

Atwater said the company continues to look for new ways to extend the appeal of its bubble gum products with youngsters, who are notorious for switching brands.
