Circle K to Increase Staffing: The Phoenix-based company is speeding up plans to schedule at least two employees on every shift at its 2,500 convenience stores in the wake of a clerk’s recent shooting death in New Mexico. The announcement came the same day that Circle K was sued by the estate and fiancee of another employee who was shot in August as he chased a man who tried to use someone else’s credit card. The suit alleges that Circle K knew of the dangers to clerks working alone on overnight shifts.
