John Kruk’s testicular cancer has not spread to other parts of his body, the Philadelphia Phillies’ team physician said, but Kruk might undergo radiation treatment as a precaution. . . . Shortstop Manny Alexander had a tumor removed from his left leg and will miss the remainder of the Baltimore Orioles’ spring training camp. George Elias, who performed the procedure, said Alexander, 23, will recover completely.

Michael Jordan says he will go to the minor leagues for at least one year in hopes of making the major league roster if Chicago White Sox officials say that’s what he needs. Jordan was a defensive replacement in right field in Friday’s 2-0, split-squad victory over Kansas City, but he did not bat. . . . Phil Clark had a two-run homer and a two-run double in the San Diego Padres’ 9-5 victory over the Oakland Athletics. . . . Eric Young had three hits and four runs batted in, and Dante Bichette had a two-run homer among three hits as the Colorado Rockies beat the Milwaukee Brewers, 10-8. . . . Vince Coleman went three for three with two RBIs as a Kansas City Royals’ split squad had 18 hits while beating a split squad of Florida Marlins, 11-2. . . . Tony Phillips had four of Detroit’s 14 hits, and the Tigers scored in each of the first five innings to defeat the Houston Astros, 7-6. . . . Pedro Munoz knocked in five runs with his first two homers of spring training, helping a Minnesota Twins’ split squad defeat a Texas Rangers’ split squad, 6-4. . . . Luis Polonia had a two-run single and scored from second base on a fielder’s choice to cap a six-run second inning, leading the New York Yankees past a Minnesota split squad, 7-3.
