Ex-Ram Denied Separate Trial

A federal judge on Monday denied a request by former Los Angeles Rams cornerback Darryl Henley to have a separate trial from three co-defendants who with Henley face charges of conspiring to operate a nationwide drug network.

Henley’s attorney, Roger L. Cossack of Los Angeles, told Judge Gary L. Taylor that he feared evidence used against the other defendants might jeopardize Henley’s chance for a fair trial.

In December, a federal grand jury indicted Henley and former Rams cheerleader Tracy Donoho on charges of cocaine possession and conspiring to distribute cocaine. Henley pleaded not guilty, while Donoho has pleaded guilty and will cooperate with the prosecution. The three other men are charged with extortion as well as conspiring to distribute cocaine.
