LOS ANGELES : Ex-Probation Officer Pleads Guilty to Child Porn Charges
A former Los Angeles County probation officer has pleaded guilty to federal child pornography charges, federal prosecutors said.
In pleading guilty to six counts of producing child pornography, Glenn Alan Nelson, 46, admitted he traveled to Thailand in 1991 to engage in sexually explicit conduct with boys under 18, Assistant U.S. Atty. Patricia Donahue said Tuesday.
Nelson hired four boys in Bangkok and Pattaya, Thailand, to perform sexual acts. He is scheduled to be sentenced May 16.
Sheriff’s deputies searched Nelson’s home June 2, 1992, and found photographs of Nelson with the boys, and other child pornography. At the time, Nelson was working at Camp Scudder, a juvenile probation camp in Saugus.
Nelson fled before he could be charged. He was arrested last month in Joplin, Mo., on a warrant issued on a 29-count federal indictment for child pornography.
